Date is set for the 3rd annual Michael Gibbons Memorial Golf Tournament. For years Michael organized a golf tournament here on Pine Island at Alden Pines. . Because of Michael’s love of golf we felt a charitable golf tournament in his name would be most fitting. Michael enjoyed meeting new people and serving in his community of Matlacha and Pine Island.

His charitable nature and sense of justice made him sensitive to the needs of others. He inspired change and participation. He is truly missed, but thankfully we can continue his legacy of contributing to the welfare of existing and future generations Michael’s wife, Marta, chose the charity that will receive a portion of our proceeds from the golf tournament and that charity is the Beacon of Hope GED Programs and Beacon Bites.

The tournament will be held at The Cape Royal Golf Course, 11460 Royal Tee Circle, Cape Coral, Fl 33991 on March 23rd. This will be a 4 person scramble and Tee off is at 8:30am. The registration fee is $100.00 per player and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, a grab and go breakfast and a fabulous lunch prepared by Chef Mark Thomas of the Caloosa Club. Lunch consists of Beef Brisket, BBQ Chicken, Pork Ribs, sides and dessert. We are also offering a 9 hole scramble for women. Registration fee is $50.00 without cart and includes lunch. Tee off is at 10:30am.

There will be contests sponsored by Dixon Golf : Par 3 Challenge: For $10.00 golfer is awarded a mulligan and is challenged to play hid ball vs. Dixon Earth. If either ball lands on the green the golfer is awarded a sleeve of Dixon Earth Balls. Aurelius Par 5 Driver Challenge: For $20.00 golfer receives a certificate for a free club and discount coupons. 12 targets are placed in the fairway. If the first shot lands inside any target the golfer is awarded a certificate for a $400.00 driver from Aurelius or a $500.00 Italian Watch from Zovati.

All participants will also receive 2 raffle tickets for the driver or watch which will be given away at the conclusion of the tournament. Legends $20,000 Shoot out: Golfers will purchase a $10.00 raffle ticket at time of registration. 4 winners will be drawn.
