A “Holiday Motor Sports” pickup truck truck ran off the road and snapped an electric pole at the corner of Stringfellow and Barrancas in Bokeelia. The accident happened about 11:35am on September 21, 2020.

The pole that was hit was an important intersection line pole. The man that was in the truck was removed, placed on a gurney with a neck brace and transported to the hospital. There was a second vehicle involved but is unclear as to how but the electric pole landed on top of the second vehicle. It is estimated to require a number of hours to replace it and the lines attached. Power was restored at around 4pm.
